French Polynesia – simulator manufacturer ALSIM has completed an upgrade of the ALX simulator operated by C3P Tahiti, with the French Polynesian pilot training organisation subsequently completing certification of the upgraded device.

  • C3P currently operates one ALSIM ALX FNPT II MCC simulator at its Tahiti training centre, alongside a nine-aircraft fleet comprising three Tecnam P2008 JCs, two Cessna 172s, one Piper PA28, one Extra 200, one Tecnam P2006T MkII and one Druine Turbi D5, according to the school’s current fleet listing.
  • ALSIM said the latest upgrade to C3P’s ALX has successfully completed certification.
  • C3P identifies its ALX as an FNPT II MCC device used for CPL, MEP, IR-ME and MCC training. The simulator can reproduce multiple aircraft categories and incorporates a visual system exceeding 180 degrees and force-feedback flight controls.
  • The Tahiti training organisation also uses the ALX for IFR proficiency and recurrent-training sessions aimed at pilots holding an IR-ME qualification, with 12 published scenarios covering conventional IFR operations, system failures and other airline-oriented situations.
  • C3P ordered the full-option ALX in 2019 as part of the introduction of its professional pilot training programme. ALSIM said at the time that C3P had been using one of its simulators since 2012 and that the new ALX was intended to support training from initial phases through multi-crew coordination.
  • ALSIM’s current ALX platform can support up to seven flight-model configurations covering analog and glass-cockpit single-engine piston aircraft, multi-engine piston aircraft, light turboprops, light jets and medium jets. Available certification standards include EASA FNPT II MCC, FAA AATD and Transport Canada FTD 2/IR/MCC configurations.
  • ALSIM provides simulator lifecycle services including software updates, upgrade packages, certification assistance, maintenance, navigation database updates, spare-parts support and on-site technical work.
  • AFM previously reported that ALSIM completed a software upgrade to CAFA Flying Training Center’s ALX in Cyprus in July 2026, alongside other recent lifecycle projects involving simulator upgrades, relocations and re-certification. The C3P project represents another upgrade of an existing ALX.
