Ontario, Canada – Canadian flight training device manufacturer Flightdeck Solutions Ltd. (FDS) announced the deployment of three new FDS flight training devices at the new Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) facility.

We are honoured to have been part of the grand opening of the new Flight SIM Centre and Innovation Hub next to Hangar 7 at the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF), now home to Flightdeck Solutions A320, B737MAX, and Q400 trainers. The devices are part of WWFC’s “Flight Deck Ready” pilot training initiative, which focuses on producing graduates better equipped for the airlines. Congratulations to WWFC and University of Waterloo. We deeply appreciate your support and partnership.” shared FDS.

Well known Canadian pilot training organisation the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC), located at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, announced significant expansion in November 2023 and in June 2024 it celebrated the grand opening of its new $1.8 million Aviation SIM Centre and Innovation Hub.

This state-of-the-art facility, developed in partnership with the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) and the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Aeronautics (WISA), houses three new flight simulators: a Boeing 737, De Havilland Q-400, and Airbus 320. These simulators will enhance our training programs, including an improved Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) curriculum component, and provide students with exposure to various aircraft types, better preparing them for future airline employment. The sims will also support advanced research initiatives for WISA researchers in the aerospace sector to create a more sustainable aviation future!

The expansion adds 3,300 square feet, bringing the total to 10,000 square feet, with an investment of over $1.8 million. The green building practices include solar power supplementation, an upgraded energy-efficient HVAC system, and enhanced insulation for improved energy efficiency.” stated Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre.
