Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer at MPS, your role goes beyond basic maintenance. You will support the complete lifecycle of our advanced flight simulation devices; from initial factory integration tests to global deployments at flight schools and airlines.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues to keep customer devices operational.
  • Installation & Validation: Commission, test, install and validate new simulator systems; execute Factory & Site Acceptance Tests, and support customers through device certification by their local Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Upgrades & Modifications: Carry out and integrate on-site hardware retrofits, software updates, and Mid-Life Upgrades (MLU).
  • Product Evolution & R&D Feedback: Because you work directly on the equipment in the field, you are the first to spot improvement opportunities. You will provide direct feedback to our engineering and R&D teams to refine future product generations.

Who are you?

You are an independent, customer-oriented engineer who adapts quickly. You understandthat downtime for a flight training center is critical, and you won't rest until a problem is solved at its root.

Your profile

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aviation Technology, or a related technical domain.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in field service, commissioning, or maintenance of complex, multidisciplinary systems.
  • Technical Skills: Solid background in electrical and mechanical systems, combined with strong software/IT literacy (Windows/Linux, Networking, Scripting).
  • Soft Skills: Team player, pragmatic, hands-on, action driven, and getting the job done mentality.
  • Global & Flexible: Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of your time (for system installations, site tests, and customer support), and comfortable working outside standard office hours.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Dutch is a plus.
  • Bonus Points: Prior experience in aviation, avionics, or flight simulation gives you an immediate advantage!

What do we offer?

An exciting opportunity to work with passionate professionals in a dynamic, high-tech industry.

  • A challenging position working with cutting-edge simulation technology.
  • A competitive salary package based on your expertise, accompanied by solid secondary benefits.
  • Comprehensive allowances and compensation for travel, overseas stays, and standby duties.
  • Ample room for professional development and career growth.
  • A welcoming home base in Groenekan with a dedicated, skilled team.

If you are looking for a hands-on technical role where no two days are the same, we would love to hear from you! Please send your CV and motivation letter to hrm@mps.aero. For questions regarding the position, feel free to contact HR – Emmy van Pelt at emmy.vanpelt@mps.aero.

Software Developer (40 hours per week – Full Time)

The Software Developer plays a key role in maintaining, improving, and optimizing existing MPS flight simulators. When software issues are reported, either by our customers or internally during QA activities in the production process, you investigate and analyze them, ensuring a timely resolution. You also implement functional and technical improvements, optimize performance, and contribute to the development of new products. In addition, you support installation teams with certification processes and simulator maintenance.

What will you do:

You will be involved in developing software for aircraft systems and maintaining existing simulators. Working closely with pilots, you will test new software versions and adapt them for each simulator, considering their unique specifications. In addition, you will:

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve reported bugs
  • Implement improvements and optimize performance and stability
  • Develop preventive measures to avoid future issues
  • Write and improve unit and integration tests
  • Document changes and solutions

As a Software Developer, you are detail-oriented, solution-focused, and a strong team player. You also bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience with C# and .NET Framework
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written

What MPS offers you:

  • Good employment conditions in an internationally operating company;
  • A lot of freedom to carry out your work at different locations;
