Denmark – Flight training management software provider FlightLogger has announced the launch of Suggested Scheduling, a new feature designed to automate the preparation of flight school training schedules while keeping final approval with operational staff. The company will demonstrate the functionality at EATS 2026 in Estoril, Portugal, from November 3–5, as it expands its platform's capabilities for managing student progression, aircraft utilisation and instructor availability.

  • FlightLogger reports that questionnaires completed by its launch partners in 2026 identified flight schools spending up to 150 hours per week preparing and adjusting training schedules, with some reporting up to 80% of students behind their planned training pace. The findings informed the development of Suggested Scheduling.
  • The functionality allows scheduling teams to select individual students or entire classes, define the training days and number of daily sessions, and generate a draft schedule automatically. Students falling furthest behind their planned training progression are prioritised when allocating training activities.
  • Each proposed booking is checked against the training organisation's existing operational rules and resource availability. Schedulers can review, modify or remove suggested bookings before publishing them, retaining control over the final schedule communicated to students and instructors.
  • The system is designed to reduce the manual coordination required to match students with available aircraft, instructors and training slots. For flight training organisations, the functionality could help reduce administrative workload, address training delays and improve utilisation of existing training resources.
  • FlightLogger has opened registration for early access to Suggested Scheduling, with initial access being offered to a selected group of flight schools ahead of wider availability. The company will demonstrate the new functionality at Stand 115 during EATS 2026.
  • Suggested Scheduling builds on FlightLogger's existing Student Progression functionality, incorporating training prerequisites, program sequence, instructor qualifications, certification requirements, aircraft eligibility, operating hours, availability and training locations. The initial release covers dual, solo and simulator training sessions, while ground and theoretical knowledge training continues to be scheduled through existing workflows.

Flight schools can already sign up for early access here.
