November 23, 2025

Florida, USA – Right Rudder Aviation, a flight school and FBO based at Inverness Airport, is undergoing significant expansion following Zach Purvis’ acquisition of majority ownership. Purvis, who also operates the aircraft leasing and management company Aviation Ape, has initiated a broad upgrade program focused on fleet growth, maintenance capability, staffing, and facility improvements to increase the school’s training capacity and operational reliability.

  • Right Rudder Aviation has doubled its flight school fleet within six weeks, expanding from three to six IFR-equipped aircraft, with additional aircraft—including a Cherokee Six and a multi-engine trainer—scheduled to arrive, bringing the fleet to eight aircraft.
  • The FBO now features an on-site, full-service maintenance capability supporting both based and transient aircraft, improving service availability for regional general aviation and training traffic.
  • Facility upgrades include structural repairs, interior refurbishment, and a redesigned pilot lounge equipped for student debriefings, DPE checkride orals, and transient pilot use.
