Florida, USA Based FTO Seeking General Manager in 2025
Jacksonville, Florida, USA – Sterling Flight Training, a FAR Part 141 and Part 61 flight school, is seeking a General Manager to oversee its operations, staff, finances, and compliance. Based at CRG in Jacksonville, FL, the role offers the opportunity to lead a respected flight school with a strong reputation and supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily operations, including flight scheduling, maintenance coordination, and staff assignments
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and aviation regulations
- Oversee student invoicing, tracking progress, and managing applications
- Work with the VA, university partners, and manage international student requirements
- Address facility needs across both CRG and satellite locations (TLH)
- Maintain vendor relations and ensure safety of aircraft, students, instructors, and maintenance
Staff Management
- Hire, train, and manage instructors, maintenance, and administrative personnel
- Set team performance goals and provide regular feedback
Customer Service
- Foster a welcoming environment for students and customers
- Resolve complaints and maintain professional relations with students, associates, and vendors
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, track expenses, and support accounting needs to ensure profitability
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations
- Oversee training programs and aircraft maintenance to meet legal requirements
Marketing
- Collaborate on strategies to attract new students
- Build partnerships with local schools and aviation organizations
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, or related field
- Experience in aviation operations or management (flight school experience preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Financial management and organizational expertise
- Problem-solving under pressure and team leadership skills
- Commitment to high safety standards and delivering a positive student experience
- Ability to identify growth opportunities
Location
- Must be able to commute daily to the CRG facility in Jacksonville, FL
