Spain – FlyBy Aviation Academy is pleased to announce that it has decided to enrol its 59 instructors in COPAC (Colegio Oficial de Pilotos de la Aviación Comercial), the official professional association of commercial aviation pilots in Spain. The Academy will cover the cost of membership for the first year; from the second year onward, each instructor will take care of their own fee.

With this decision, FlyBy seeks to recognise the work of its instructors and to give them the backing of a leading professional institution in Spanish aviation.

Membership gives instructors access to a broad range of services, grouped into four areas:

  • Training and development. Members can join COPAC Mentoring, the first and only mentoring programme for pilots in Spain, from the moment they join. They also have access to a technical consultation and professional advice service, as well as training sessions, including virtual classroom and in-person courses.
  • Protection and support. Membership includes a loss-of-license insurance policy designed specifically for flight instructors, together with the Comprehensive Care Program for Pilots in Spain (PAIPE), which supports pilots dealing with emotional or psychological difficulties or addiction problems.
  • Procedures and certificates. Members can use the COPAC language proficiency assessment centre at preferential rates and access professional procedures and certificates, such as the ATPL, the no-accident certificate and total flight hours certification.
  • Information and perks. Members receive college and aeronautical news, including newsletters and the Aviador magazine, and can join the Members’ Club, with discounts and special offers from many brands, products and services.
