flydubai Opens 2026 Applications for Ab Initio MPL Cadet Pilot Program

United Arab Emirates – flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier operating an all-Boeing 737 fleet, has opened applications for its Ab Initio Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training program, with an application closing date of 16 July 2026, targeting Emirati candidates with no prior flying experience.

  • Candidates must be aged 17 to 30, hold a high school diploma with a minimum score of 70% or GPA of 3.0, be fluent in English, and be able to obtain a GCAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • UAE national candidates must hold a UAE passport and Emirates ID; male UAE nationals must have completed Military National Service before joining the program.
  • Applications close on 16 July 2026.
  • flydubai took delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in 2025, expanding total fleet size to 97 aircraft with an average age of 5.5 years.
  • Expects delivery of 12 aircraft in 2026:
    • 7x Boeing 737 MAX 9
    • 5x Boeing 737 MAX 8
  • Announced major Dubai Airshow orders for 150 Airbus A321neo and 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, diversifying its narrowbody fleet strategy.
