France – French flight training organisation Astonfly has welcomed representatives from Ryanair's Pilot Recruitment team to its training facilities at Paris-Saclay-Versailles Airport for a dedicated session with student pilots. The visit provided trainees with direct access to airline recruitment personnel and information on the selection process and career opportunities within Ryanair, reinforcing the existing training relationship between the two organisations.

  • The session covered three areas: career opportunities at Ryanair, an overview of the airline's pilot recruitment process, and direct discussions between students and recruitment representatives.
  • Astonfly is Ryanair's exclusive Future Flyer Academy training partner in France, offering a 24-month professional pilot training pathway incorporating ATPL theoretical knowledge, flight training, instrument and multi-engine qualifications, Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), and Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC).
  • The Ryanair Future Flyer Academy provides eligible candidates with a conditional job offer before commencing training. Following successful completion of the program and Ryanair's final assessment, candidates can progress to a Boeing 737 type rating funded by the airline, subject to the applicable training agreement.
  • The academy welcomed 54 new student pilots in September 2026, its largest reported intake to date. Trainees are enrolled across its integrated airline pilot training pathways, including the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy and Multi Airlines programs.
  • AFM previously reported that Astonfly and Ryanair established an exclusive pilot training partnership in France in April 2022, initially targeting the recruitment and training of up to 500 cadet pilots over four years. The relationship has since continued through the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy.
  • Astonfly operates 24 training aircraft, comprising 15 Cessna 172S, eight Diamond DA42 and one Mudry Cap 10. Its simulator infrastructure comprises three ALSIM AL250 FNPT II devices and two Boeing 737 FNPT II-MCC devices, supporting instrument, procedural and multi-crew training.
