France – Aviation technology providers Foxtrot Aviation and Cumulus.aero have announced a partnership integrating Foxtrot's aircraft data collection technology with Cumulus's flight school and flying club management platform. The integration enables flight data to flow automatically into training and operational management workflows, supporting fleet monitoring, digital flight records, instructor debriefing and aircraft maintenance oversight.

  • Cumulus.aero has completed more than 50 flight hours testing the Foxtrot solution and its integration with the Cumulus platform under operational conditions. The testing covered different flight profiles, including multi-leg navigation flights, touch-and-go operations and instrument approaches.
  • The integration automatically transfers aircraft data collected through Foxtrot into Cumulus, eliminating the need for pilots, instructors or ground personnel to manually retrieve and enter flight information.
  • Flight schools and flying clubs using the integrated system can monitor aircraft positions and review recorded flight trajectories through Cumulus's web and mobile applications, improving visibility across training fleets.
  • Flight records can be automatically pre-filled using recorded flight times, supporting digital aircraft logbook management and reducing administrative tasks associated with documenting training flights.
  • For flight instructors, the system makes recorded flight trajectories, altitude, speed and available avionics parameters accessible for post-flight debriefing. This allows instructors to review student performance using recorded flight data alongside conventional training assessments.
  • The integration also supports aircraft utilisation monitoring and maintenance investigations by providing access to flight histories and data associated with unusual operating events. These capabilities are intended to assist maintenance personnel in reviewing aircraft conditions and identifying potential issues.
  • Foxtrot's connected aircraft technology uses a compact onboard device weighing approximately 100 grams, powered through an aircraft USB connection, to transmit flight data via 4G. Its Foxtrot Connect system supports automated collection and transfer of recorded aircraft data, including compatible avionics information, for use in operational analysis and external software platforms.
