France's XSCOPTER Advances EC145-C2 Full Flight Simulator Installation in 2026

France – Helicopter pilot training provider XSCOPTER is progressing with the reassembly of its EC145-C2 Full Flight Simulator at its new training center at Perpignan-Rivesaltes Airport following the device’s relocation from Germany. Simaero Engineering is carrying out the installation and will support the simulator through commissioning and regulatory qualification, adding dedicated EC145-C2 synthetic training capacity in southern France once the device enters service.

• Simaero Engineering began dismantling the device in Germany earlier in 2026 and is responsible for its transfer, reinstallation and support through certification at the new location. The current work follows installation and alignment of the simulator base structure, support pillars and associated infrastructure.
• XSCOPTER intends to use the device for EC145-C2 crew training covering OPC/LPC, IFR/PBN, NVG, HEMS, tactical, night, mountain and offshore operations, as well as dry-lease simulator access for approved training organisations and instructors.
• The Perpignan facility is being developed across approximately 500 square metres and includes the simulator area, six to seven classrooms, instructor and administrative offices, a computer room and crew facilities.
• The simulator previously formed part of the EC145 training infrastructure at Sankt Augustin, where the ADAC HEMS Academy provided EC135, EC145 and H145 simulator training to HEMS, police, offshore and other helicopter operators.
• AFM previously reported in March 2026 that Simaero Engineering had begun dismantling the EC145-C2 simulator for XSCOPTER and would manage the relocation through reinstallation and certification in France. The latest development confirms that the project has progressed to physical reassembly at the Perpignan training center.
