United Kingdom – Spanish flight training organisation FTEJerez has confirmed the arrival of a new ALSIM AL42 flight simulator at its London Oxford Airport training base. Announced by the academy on November 5, 2026, the addition expands simulator training capacity for students pursuing UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Instrument Rating qualifications.

  • The new simulator complements FTEJerez's UK training operations, established in 2025 with an initial plan to deploy two Diamond DA42 twin-engine aircraft. The Oxford facility supports airline-sponsored cadets and self-funded students working towards UK CAA pilot qualifications.
  • FTEJerez said the additional equipment will provide greater flexibility in scheduling practical training and access to simulator resources for students progressing through commercial pilot and multi-engine instrument training.
  • The ALSIM AL42 replicates the Diamond DA42-VI aircraft and incorporates genuine aircraft components, Garmin G1000 NXi avionics, a GFC 700 autopilot, VFR-VS image generation and force-feedback flight controls. Configurable with analogue or electronic backup instruments, the device is designed to support PPL, CPL and multi-engine Instrument Rating training under UK CAA FNPT II standards.

Statements

  • “The arrival of the AL42 simulator at our London Oxford Airport base is another important step in the continued development of our UK training operations. By enhancing our facilities in the UK, we are even better equipped and have more flexibility when it comes to supporting our UK airline partners and British self-sponsored cadets training towards a UK CAA licence, providing them with high-quality training and greater access to the resources they need throughout their training journey,” said Oscar Sordo, CEO of FTEJerez.
  • “We are proud to support FTEJerez as they continue expanding their training operations in the UK. Our partnership reflects a shared commitment to high-quality pilot training, and we are pleased that the AL42 will play a role in this new chapter of their development,” said Leonardo Rodrigues, Sales Manager at ALSIM.
