Spain – Spanish flight training organisation FTEJerez has held a graduation ceremony for its latest group of professional pilot trainees at its Jerez de la Frontera campus on 2 October 2026. The graduates included both self-sponsored students and cadets enrolled through the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy, contributing to the airline pilot training pipeline.

  • A total of 36 students from courses 263, 264, 265 and 266 completed their training and received their FTE wings. The graduates represented 11 different nationalities, reflecting the academy's international student intake.
  • The graduating group included participants from British Airways' fully funded Speedbird Pilot Academy alongside independently funded trainees.
  • Sarah Scane, Head of Air Operations at British Airways Euroflyer, attended the graduation as Guest of Honour, accompanied by four representatives from British Airways.
  • AFM previously reported that FTEJerez was participating as an official training provider for the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy's 2026 recruitment campaign, offering fully funded training places leading towards a UK CAA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). The October graduation demonstrates the academy's continuing delivery of airline-sponsored and self-funded pilot training.
