FTEJerez Welcomes South East Technological University Ireland to Guide ATPL Students on B.Sc. Pilot Studies Dissertations
Spain – FTEJerez, one of Europe’s most established airline aligned flight training organisation’s, has hosted Roddy McNamee, Course Director of the B.Sc. in Pilot Studies delivered in collaboration with South East Technological University (SETU), Ireland, as part of its ongoing integration of academic and airline-focused pilot training.

The visit focused on students currently completing Years 2 and 3 ATPL training within the degree pathway at FTEJerez, aligning academic progression with professional pilot development.

McNamee delivered a dedicated briefing on the Bachelor’s dissertation, a core academic requirement for students seeking to graduate with the SETU-awarded B.Sc. in Pilot Studies.

The session outlined the full dissertation lifecycle, including topic selection, proposal development, literature review, methodology design, data analysis, and the presentation of conclusions and recommendations.

Emphasis was placed on primary research and on selecting topics with clear, real-world relevance to the aviation and pilot training industry, including sustainability, artificial intelligence, human factors, and operational challenges.
