Fujairah Aviation Academy Adds Middle East’s First Certified ALSIM Airliner

United Arab Emirates – Fujairah Aviation Academy has introduced an ALSIM Airliner into its training fleet for Multi-Crew Cooperation training, with manufacturer ALSIM stating that the device is the first Airliner to achieve certification in the Middle East. The FNPT II MCC simulator gives the academy a dedicated airline-transition platform combining conventional yoke and fly-by-wire sidestick operating philosophies.

• The simulator’s entry into the academy’s training operation follows a 2025 acquisition covering 1 × ALSIM Airliner and 1 × ALSIM AL172. ALSIM announced the order in November 2025, while Fujairah Aviation Academy’s latest update confirms the Airliner has now joined its active training fleet.
• The Airliner is configured with both yoke and sidestick controls, allowing students to experience conventional and fly-by-wire flight-control philosophies within a single training device. It is intended for MCC, APS MCC and MPL Phase II training rather than a specific aircraft type rating.
• Fujairah Aviation Academy plans to use the device to develop multi-crew competencies including crew coordination, automation management, procedural discipline and airline cockpit operating practices. Its existing MCC course focuses on decision-making, communication, task sharing, checklist use, mutual supervision and teamwork in normal, abnormal and emergency operations.
• The acquisition extends a simulator relationship between Fujairah Aviation Academy and ALSIM dating back to an AL42 acquired in 2006 and an ALX added in 2012. The more recent AL172 supports single-engine and instrument training, while the Airliner extends synthetic training into airline-oriented multi-crew phases.
• Technically, the Airliner is an FNPT II MCC-certified generic airliner device combining fly-by-wire and conventional controls. ALSIM positions the platform for A320- and B737-style operating philosophies and equips it with an enclosed instructor station, visual system and configurable airline-training environment.
