Garmin Connects PlaneSync Logs with Pilotbase and Maintenance Platforms

USA – Aviation technology supplier Garmin has added Pilotbase, TBX, PLANELOGIX and AircraftMX integrations to flyGarmin.com, allowing aircraft owners to transfer recorded flight data automatically to external analysis and maintenance platforms.

• Four service providers have joined Garmin’s flight-log integration network:
  • Pilotbase for flight-data monitoring and training analysis.
  • TBX for maintenance compliance and technician access.
  • PLANELOGIX for aircraft-record digitisation and maintenance tracking.
  • AircraftMX for digital logbooks, maintenance scheduling and expense records.
• Pilotbase Flight Data Monitoring automatically imports each flight, associates it with the corresponding reservation, instructor and student, and generates an interactive three-dimensional replay. The software can display manoeuvres, flight phases, attitude information and engine data recorded by compatible Garmin avionics.
• Depending on the installed equipment, flight logs can contain:
  • GPS track and altitude information.
  • Aircraft attitude data.
  • Engine and performance information.
  • Aircraft total time and departure time.
  • Carbon-monoxide measurements.
• Aircraft equipped with a GDL 60 datalink can upload logs automatically to flyGarmin.com after landing through PlaneSync using an LTE or Wi-Fi connection. An active PlaneSync subscription is required for flight-log uploading.
• Alternative transfer methods include the Flight Stream 510 wireless gateway, which sends avionics logs to the Garmin Pilot application, and wireless uploads from aircraft fitted with AXIS flight displays or a GI 275 engine indication system.
• Aircraft owners control the integrations through flyGarmin.com. Once sharing is activated for an aircraft, existing and future logs are transmitted automatically to the selected provider until future access is disabled.
• PLANELOGIX converts physical aircraft records into searchable digital files and provides maintenance tracking, document sharing and inspection alerts. TBX and AircraftMX extend the integration into maintenance compliance, scheduling and record management.
