Maverick was created to solve a problem its founder knows firsthand. Noah Lencki is an active CFI, CFII, and MEI, the chief flight instructor of a six-aircraft Part 61 school, and a Phenom 300 pilot for a Wisconsin charter operator. Most flight training in the United States happens at small schools like his — operations with a handful of aircraft and instructors that carry the same documentation stakes as large academies, where a missed endorsement or an undocumented requirement can delay a checkride or create problems in an FAA records review. Yet most of these schools still run on paper binders and spreadsheets, because flight school software has been priced and built for much larger operations.

Maverick gives a school a single system for compliance and student records:

• Part 61 compliance tracking — live progress against FAA regulatory minimums for each certificate track, with an estimated checkride-readiness view and a checkride training window, so instructors can see exactly what remains before a student is eligible for a practical test.
• Student records and flight logging — every flight in one place, with times, maneuvers, takeoffs and landings, and regulation tags, structured to the certificate the student is pursuing.
• Digital endorsements — issued from current AC 61-65K templates with instructor credentials auto-filled, and alerts before 90-day solo endorsements, medicals, and knowledge-test windows lapse.
• Prospective student CRM — inbound leads tracked from first inquiry through enrollment, with communication logs, source tracking, and one-click conversion to an active student record.
• Student accounts — each student gets their own sign-in showing what's left to accomplish, assigned lessons with study material, and post-lesson debriefs from instructors.
• Record import — transfer students onboard by importing flight history from CSV exports and logbook totals, with imported time flagged as prior experience and folded into Part 61 progress.

Schools can also build custom checklists for onboarding and stage checks, upload custom syllabus  lessons, collect anonymous safety reports, and generate downloadable progress and compliance reports.

The Conditions Behind Every Logged Hour

Maverick's most distinctive feature records the weather each training flight was actually flown in. Every flight log automatically captures the official aviationweather.gov observation for the airport and hour of the lesson — including the crosswind component resolved against the runway used, at every airport on a cross-country route. Over a student's training, Maverick builds a factual picture of the conditions they have experienced: the running averages, the strongest crosswind, the lowest ceiling, the most demanding day in each category.

That record gives instructors and students something that has never existed before: a documented foundation for setting personal minimums based on what a student has actually flown, rather than an instructor's recollection.

Maverick was developed by Lencki and his brother and co-founder, Owen Lencki, and refined through months of daily use at Celestial Kinetics Flight Academy in Waupaca, Wisconsin, where Noah serves as chief flight instructor. Feedback from the school's instructors shaped the product — including the weather-tracking feature, which began as an instructor's suggestion.
