Germany's FFH Aviation Training Partners with Airline Flight Academy for APS MCC Pathway

Germany & Ireland – German flight school FFH Aviation Training has signed a strategic partnership with Dublin-based Airline Flight Academy (AFA), an official Ryanair-approved training partner, providing eligible FFH students with preferential access to AFA’s APS MCC training programs. The partnership creates an additional post-CPL pathway for FFH trainees to progress into airline-focused multi-crew training, including the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy Gateway 2 APS MCC course.

• AFA states that it currently trains more than 500 APS MCC students annually and has supported graduates into positions with more than 20 airline operators.
• The new partnership was formally launched on September 19, 2026, during Pilot Careers Live Frankfurt.
• Eligible FFH students will undertake the APS MCC phase at AFA’s training facility in Santry, Dublin, with access to both its general airline-focused APS MCC programs and the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy Gateway 2 pathway.
• AFA’s Ryanair-mentored APS MCC comprises 16 hours of computer-based training, 40 hours of theoretical training, 40 hours of simulator training and 20 hours of briefing and debriefing, followed by a final APS MCC assessment. AFA states that Ryanair-mentored cadets also receive access to Ryanair operating procedures and progress through a pathway that includes a Ryanair pre-assessment followed by a type rating assessment after completion of the APS MCC.
• FFH Aviation Training operates from Stuttgart, Freiburg, Augsburg and Karlsruhe in Germany and states that it has provided pilot training since 1964. Its current published fleet comprises 19 aircraft: three Piper PA-44-180 Seminoles, two PA-28-201 Arrows, three PA-28-181 Archers, two PA-28-161 Warriors, two Grob G115Cs and seven Cessna 152s.
• FFH also lists three flight training devices supporting its own training activity: a Boeing 737 FNPT II, Airbus A320 FNPT II and Piper PA-44 FNPT II. The new partnership shifts the APS MCC progression stage for participating students to AFA’s Dublin facility.
• AFA’s Dublin simulator inventory currently comprises five devices: one Boeing 737-8 MAX Level D Full Flight Simulator, two Airbus A320-200 Level D Full Flight Simulators, one Airbus A320 FTD Level 1/FNPT II MCC and one Boeing 737-8 MAX FTD Level 2/FNPT II MCC.
• AFM previously reported that AFA had trained more than 1,000 Ryanair Future Flyer Academy cadets since beginning operations more than five years ago. AFA operates both Ryanair-linked and generic APS MCC pathways from its Dublin training center.
