Germany’s Rotorcraft Training Capacity Expands with New FAA-Qualified FFS in 2025

November 17, 2025

Germany – TRU Simulation + Training has announced that its Bell 525 Full Flight Simulator, installed at the Bell Training Academy, has received FAA Interim Level C qualification. The milestone allows pilots to begin accruing additional training hours on the 525 platform in advance of the helicopter’s expected FAA type certification.

  • The Interim Level C qualification enables structured training and proficiency development on the Bell 525 ahead of full certification, strengthening early readiness for operators preparing for the aircraft’s entry into service.
  • The simulator integrates high-fidelity visual systems, an accurately replicated cockpit, and an advanced motion platform designed to mirror real-world flight dynamics of the Bell 525.
  • TRU Simulation noted that fidelity and accuracy remain central to ensuring pilots can safely translate simulator training to operational environments, especially as the 525 program progresses.
  • The device supports Bell’s broader training strategy for the 525, complementing the helicopter’s development and manufacturing program under Bell Textron Inc.

Statements

  • “The accuracy and realism of our Flight Simulation Devices play a crucial role in ensuring that pilots can effectively translate their training into real-world scenarios. This qualification achievement ensures pilots can practice their skills in a controlled environment as the 525 program continues to progress.” Jerry Messaris, Vice President & General Manager, TRU Simulation + Training.
