Boeing’s latest flagship widebody aircraft, the 777-9, is set to touch down in India for the first time during Wings India 2024, the civil aviation air show slated for January 18-21 at Begumpet airport, Hyderabad, India.
Scheduled to land in Hyderabad on January 16, the 777-9 flight test airplane will be on static display at Wings 2024 from January 18-19. As the world’s largest and most efficient twin-engine jet, the 777-9 draws on advanced technologies from the 787 Dreamliner family, representing a fusion of innovation in the aerospace industry.
“We welcome the opportunity to introduce the state-of-the-art 777-9 to India and look forward to its induction in our customers’ fleets over the coming years. The 777-9 will become the flagship of many airlines around the world,” said Ryan Weir, vice-president, commercial sales and marketing for India at Boeing. Boeing has already booked over 450 orders for its 777X family of aircraft, including the 777-8 and 777-9 passenger aircraft as well as a 777-8 freighter. Air India will also be receiving 10 777-9s as part of the substantial order it placed in 2023,” said Boeing.
