China – Airbus has inaugurated a second final assembly line in Tianjin, China, reinforcing its narrow-body aircraft production capacity as part of a broader global ramp-up strategy. The new facility represents Airbus’s 10th final assembly line worldwide and forms a key component of its plan to increase monthly output of the A320neo family.
The Tianjin final assembly line is expected to be fully operational by early 2026. This marks Airbus’s second final assembly line in China; the first was established in Tianjin in 2008.
The inauguration closely follows the opening of a second final assembly line at Airbus’s Mobile, Alabama facility in the United States.
Airbus aims to reach a production target of 75 A320neo-family aircraft per month by 2027.
The opening ceremony in Tianjin was attended by Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, who also met with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
