Global Pilot Training Group, Skyborne Airline Academy, Announces Two Major Appointments
Skyborne Airline Academy has appointed Julie Flower as Recruitment Manager and Ashley Hodges as Operations Manager. Skyborne said that these roles will be pivotal in seeing the company continue to recruit high quality trainees and ensuring all aspects of airline pilot training are fully supported.
Julie Flower will draw on her extensive aviation experience to manage Skyborne’s selection processes, ensuring the best possible candidates for enrolment on to the courses. This includes overseeing the implementation of a combination of tried-and-tested selection methods, as well as supporting candidates through an objective application screening process, airline-style interviews and aptitude, skill and capacity testing.
On the other hand, as operations manager, Ashley Hodges will make use of more than 10 years’ aviation experience to ensure the smooth running of Skyborne’s operations, with responsibilities spanning everything from managing accounts and ensuring the readiness of fleets to monitoring the availability of training resources.
“Skyborne has been on an ambitious growth path and Julie and Ashley are excellent additions to our team, bringing a passion for aviation that spans many years and multiple businesses,” said Ian Cooper, chief operating Officer, Skyborne. “In their roles they will play a key role in positioning us for continued growth, supporting our efforts to enroll the best candidates for our courses, and ensuring we operate efficiently.”
Julie began her aviation recruitment career 25 years ago as recruitment advisor at British Airways. Her previous roles include global pilot recruitment partner and assessor at L3Harris Commercial Aviation and associate recruiter at Hudson RPO, where she was responsible for candidate screening and interviewing for multiple UK and global airlines.
“Skyborne has been on an impressive growth trajectory and actively enhances the aviation sector by broadening the pool of talent. I’m looking forward to playing my part in ensuring we identify candidates who have the strengths required to progress through Skyborne’s training and make a good career as a pilot in the end,” said Julie Flower.
Ashley’s aviation experience spans piloting and operations, having previously held the roles of operations supervisor and operations manager at L3Harris Commercial Aviation, whilst gaining a UK commercial pilots licence with multi-engine and instrument rating.
“As someone who has long been passionate about aviation, I could see Skyborne was the perfect next step for my career. The company has ambitious plans for the future of the industry, and I look forward to playing my part in seeing Skyborne take its next steps,” said Ashley Hodges.
