Global Training Provider Expands Safety Management Outreach in 2025 in Southeast Asia

November 4, 2025

Malaysia - CAE, through its Asia-Pacific Regional Safety division, recently conducted a Safety Management System (SMS) training session with its partner flight training organization, International Aero Training Academy (IATAC), based in Melaka. The session reflected both organisations’ continued commitment to strengthening aviation safety culture, risk management, and safety investigations within the pilot training environment.

  • The session was led by CAE’s Head of Regional Safety for Asia Pacific, who oversees the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) across CAE’s network of Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) and Flight Training Organisations (FTOs).
  • The training covered key SMS principles, risk assessment methodologies, and practical case studies focused on safety performance management in flight training operations.
  • The engagement was marked by high participation and open discussions, reinforcing IATAC’s proactive approach to integrating safety best practices into daily operations.
  • The collaboration highlights CAE’s regional initiative to enhance safety alignment across partner academies, particularly those supporting Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) and commercial pilot training programs.
