Greece's Egnatia Aviation Highlights Iraqi Airways Cadet Pipeline as Graduates Join Carrier

Greece & Iraq – Egnatia Aviation, Greece's largest flight training organisation, has highlighted the continued operation of its exclusive Iraqi Airways cadet training partnership, confirming that graduates trained through the scheme have joined the Iraqi national carrier while further cadets remain in training.

• Egnatia Aviation has served as the exclusive training provider for Iraqi Airways cadets since the partnership was established during the academy’s 2018–2019 expansion period, with the relationship renewed during 2025–2026.
• The Iraqi Airways pathway extends beyond licence training, according to Egnatia, incorporating cadet selection, an airline-tailored integrated syllabus, instructor and assessment standards, multicultural preparation and alignment with the carrier’s operating procedures and training philosophy.
• Iraqi Airways has previously been directly involved in monitoring delivery of the programme. In September 2025, members of the airline’s Training Management team reviewed Egnatia’s Iraqi Airways-specific syllabus, conducted instructor standardisation check flights and met active cadets to discuss requirements for transition into airline operations.
• Egnatia’s current standard Airline Integrated programme runs for 19 months and comprises 226.2 training hours, including 124.7 hours on single-engine aircraft, 19 hours on the Diamond DA42, 42.5 hours on FNPT II simulators and 40 hours of APS MCC training.
• AFM reported in November 2024 that Iraqi Airways had employed 63 Egnatia graduates through the partnership.
• The partnership remains part of a wider expansion in Egnatia’s airline-linked training activity. The academy welcomed 192 new cadets across six integrated ATPL batches during 2025 and reported 116 active flight-line cadets and 2,325 flight hours during March 2026.
