08th Apr 2025

Greece – Egnatia Aviation, one of the country’s largest aviation training organisations, reinforced its long-standing partnership with Aegean Airlines through a recent visit by senior training executives from the airline, highlighting continued alignment in cadet training and pilot development.

Senior training personnel from Aegean Airlines visited Egnatia Aviation, reaffirming their partnership. The delegation included:

  • Captain Vassilis Anadiotis – Training Manager
  • Captain Vassilios Kokolakis – Head of Pilot Selection
  • Captain Viktor Tolias – Aegean Cadet Scheme Training Supervisor
  • Captain Panagiotis Palaiologos – Aegean Cadet Scheme Training Supervisor

In March 2025 Egnatia Aviation enrolled Batch 092A under the Aegean Airlines Cadet Scheme. The new cohort consisted of 26 aspiring pilots enrolled in the Airline Integrated Programme, marking the sixth group trained under the airline’s long-term partnership with the academy.

The Aegean Airlines Cadet Scheme with Egnatia Aviation has been ongoing since 2018, highlighting a continued collaboration aimed at developing airline-ready pilots.

The program is a full-time course with a duration of 17 to 19 months and significantly facilitates the access of new talents to a demanding and high-cost career path, since the total cost of the tuition for a future pilot, including the type rating, exceeds 90,000 euros. AEGEAN’s total investment in the specific initiative exceeds 7 million euros, while a similar initiative has been launched for Aviation Engineers.
