Greece – Egnatia Aviation, a flight school based at Kavala International Airport, has welcomed its latest Aegean Airlines cadet batch — the eighth intake since the partnership launched in 2018 — marking a cumulative total of 139 Aegean Airlines cadets enrolled in the programme across seven completed batches, positioning the collaboration as one of the most active airline-academy partnerships in the region.
- The Egnatia Aviation and Aegean Airlines cadet partnership was established in 2018 with the launch of Aegean's official cadet scheme through the Airline Pilot Integrated Programme — one of Greece's first structured airline-sponsored ab initio cadet pathways.
- Across seven completed batches, the programme has enrolled 139 Aegean Airlines cadets, delivering a structured pathway from ab initio training through to airline readiness that aligns training methodology, discipline, and procedures directly with Aegean's operational standards and expectations.
- The programme's design emphasises continuous interaction between the airline and the academy throughout the training cycle, ensuring cadets develop competencies and professional behaviours consistent with Aegean Airlines' operational environment from their first day of training.
- The partnership has developed beyond a contractual training arrangement into a long-term collaboration involving continuous dialogue and shared standards — described by Egnatia Aviation as one of the most successful airline-academy partnerships in the region, underpinned by mutual commitment to quality and a shared vision for pilot development.
- Aegean Airlines operates a network of 161 destinations across 46 countries with a fleet of 76 Airbus A320 and A321neo family aircraft.
