Greece – AEGEAN, the country's flag carrier, has launched the new cycle of its Pilot Scholarship Program with applications open from June 30 to October 16, 2026, offering 40 new scholarship places with training commencing January 11, 2027 — bringing the program's cumulative investment to more than EUR 17 million since its 2018 launch.
- Since 2018, more than 280 young men and women have joined the Aegean Pilot Scholarship Program, of whom 150 have completed training and now serve in the cockpits of AEGEAN and Olympic Air, with another 88 currently in the training stage.
- The new cycle will offer 40 scholarship places with financial support covering the greater part of training costs, which approach EUR 100,000 per pilot candidate for the full program.
- Training is delivered in cooperation with Global Aviation and Egnatia Aviation flight schools, with graduates subsequently completing type rating training at the AEGEAN | CAE Flight Training Center, the airline's state-of-the-art training facility, before joining AEGEAN or Olympic Air as line pilots.
- The program duration is up to 20 months from training commencement, providing a structured pathway from ab initio through CPL, type rating, and airline placement within a defined timeline.
- AEGEAN's total investment in the Pilot Scholarship Program now exceeds EUR 17 million, and since 2022 the airline has operated a corresponding scholarship program for Aircraft Engineers — reflecting a comprehensive approach to developing domestic aviation professionals.
