Egnatia Aviation, one of Greece's largest flight training organisations located in Kavala, marked a significant milestone on May 14, 2024 with the grand opening of Lydia Airport. This landmark event brought together key figures from the aviation industry, academia, and government to witness the unveiling of this state-of-the-art facility. Among them were:
In 2023 Egnatia Aviation announced it had completed the construction and renovation of Lydia Aerodrome, the first General Aviation Airport in the country, in Amygdaleonas, Kavala. The creation of the new aerodrome came from an investment of 6 million euros funded by the Aviation Equity Fund and will double Egnatia Aviation's pilot training capacity to 400, and other aviation services.
