Denmark – GreyBird Pilot Academy, one of North Europe's leading pilot training group's with bases across Europe, has appointed Signe Nicolaisen Hørning as Chief Executive Officer, bringing one of the most experienced aviation training executives in Scandinavia into its top operational leadership role ahead of its next phase of European expansion.
- Hørning previously served on GreyBird's Board of Directors from January 2025, joining as non-executive director with the designation of Former European Operations Director at CAE and past Chair of the Danish Aviation Association — she now transitions from board to executive leadership as CEO.
- Her industry career includes Managing Director Europe at Maersk Training, European Operations Director at CAE, and leadership positions at both Oxford Aviation Academy and SAS Flight Academy — spanning the full spectrum of commercial pilot training, simulator operations, and airline training partnerships.
- She also served as Chairwoman of Brancheforeningen Dansk Luftfart, Denmark's aviation industry association, representing the sector in regulatory, political, and strategic forums at national level.
GreyBird Pilot Academy has also appointed Thomas Brams as Chief Operating Officer.
- The appointments follow a period of significant expansion for GreyBird, which most recently opened a new base in Ireland and placed an order for 13 additional training aircraft, with the academy now educating more than 180 students annually across bases in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Dublin, and Córdoba.
