Saudi Arabia – flyadeal, Saudia Group's low-cost carrier, has completed the ground phase of the Airbus Pilot Instructor Course (APIC) under the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) framework, delivered in collaboration with Airbus at flyadeal's Jeddah headquarters from 5 to 9 July 2026, with the simulator phase to follow at the Saudia Academy (Prince Sultan Aviation Academy).

The APIC program is Airbus's official development pathway for instructor pilots, designed to elevate the effectiveness of flight instruction through structured coaching, teaching, and assessment methodologies under the CBTA framework.
The CBTA framework enables instructor pilots to move beyond pass-or-fail evaluation to identify root causes of performance gaps, supporting more precise, data-driven training interventions.
AFM previously reported on flyadeal's graduation of its fourth batch of 13 Saudi cadet pilots from A320 type-rating ground and simulator training at Global Training Aviation (GTA) in Madrid in January 2026, and on Saudia Group's graduation of over 1,000 aviation professionals in a single year.
