Oman & Qatar – Oman Aviation Academy (OAA), the Sultanate of Oman's only approved flight training organisation, has been approved by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) as a remote training location for the ATPL program in collaboration with Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) — formalising a training partnership that has been under development since mid-2025.

The QCAA approval enables OAA to deliver ATPL training on behalf of Qatar Aeronautical Academy from its base at Sohar Airport, expanding the reach of QAA's pilot training programmes to a satellite facility outside Qatar.
The partnership builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between OAA and Qatar Academy of Aviation Sciences (QAA) that was developed following a May 2025, QAA delegation visit to OAA's Sohar facility as part of ongoing discussions to explore collaborative opportunities in flight training and aviation education.
OAA operates a training fleet of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft from its base at Sohar Airport. The academy holds dual regulatory approval from both EASA (obtained February 2024) and CAA Oman, delivering the frozen Integrated ATPL(A) programme under both frameworks.
In November 2025, OAA appointed Adil Bin Hamood Al Hasani as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition for the academy. The academy also signed an MOU with Taageer Finance in July 2025 to provide tailored financing solutions for self-funded students, and a memorandum of cooperation with Bahrain's Gulf Aviation Academy in May 2025 to enhance joint training capabilities across the Gulf region.
