Türkiye – Turkish defence and simulation company HAVELSAN has completed the first full-mission simulator for the domestically designed T625 GÖKBEY helicopter, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries.
- The GÖKBEY simulator was developed entirely with domestic resources, encompassing the main simulation software, image generator, visualisation systems, airport databases, and 3D modelling libraries — reflecting HAVELSAN's full indigenous simulation development capability.
- The T625 GÖKBEY is Türkiye's first domestically produced helicopter to receive civil certification, having been awarded a CS-29 Large Helicopter Type Certificate by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM) following over 600 technical meetings, 186 tests, and approximately 18,000 flight test points.
- The twin-engine helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 6 tonnes and can carry 14 passengers or 6 stretchers in ambulance configuration; the first user was the Gendarmerie General Command, which received three early-delivery aircraft, with serial production of 20 units now ongoing.
- The Ministry of Health will become the first civilian user, with plans to acquire three GÖKBEY helicopters by end of 2026 for ambulance operations, joining the Ministry's existing fleet of 13 ambulance helicopters operating 24/7 across 13 regions.
- In the second phase of serial production, the GÖKBEY will transition to the domestically developed TS1400 engine by TEI, further advancing the programme's indigenous content.
- HAVELSAN has over 40 years of experience in training system production and aims to have delivered more than 400 simulators covering over 60 military and civilian platforms upon completion of its current workload; the company has recently attracted attention for its exports of Boeing and Airbus series civil aviation simulators.
