Switzerland – Horizon Swiss Flight Academy, a Swiss Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and member of the Helvetic Airways Group, celebrated the graduation of 11 students on 16 September 2026. The graduates had completed Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training in August and other courses earlier in the year, reflecting the academy's continuing professional pilot training activities.

  • The latest graduation brings Horizon's total number of graduates in 2026 to 28, according to the academy.
  • Horizon provides an Airline Cadet Program leading to a frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), with training available through full-time and part-time pathways. Its multi-engine and instrument training is conducted at Zurich Airport, supported by its flight training and simulation facilities.
  • The academy's MCC training prepares pilots for multi-crew aircraft operations, focusing on communication, coordination and shared cockpit responsibilities. The course is designed for pilots who have completed their Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Piston qualification and ATPL theoretical knowledge examinations.
  • Horizon's published MCC training package comprises three days of classroom instruction and 20 hours of practical training using a Diamond DA42 Multi-Engine Turbine (MET) simulator. Practical sessions can be scheduled individually, with the course providing preparation for an initial multi-pilot aircraft type rating.
