Hungary – Hungarian flight training organization Tréner Flight Academy has welcomed 50 cadets from 13 countries into its 25th Wizz Air Pilot Academy (WAPA) batch at Nyíregyháza Airport. Announced on October 14, 2026, the intake continues the academy's role in preparing ab-initio pilots for Wizz Air's Airbus fleet.

The new cohort began its training program on October 12, 2026, with approximately 18 months of ab-initio instruction scheduled at Nyíregyháza. The first four months will focus primarily on theoretical training before students progress to practical flying.
The 50 cadets include participants from Poland, North Macedonia, Italy, Cyprus, Israel, the United Kingdom and Kazakhstan, reflecting the international recruitment reach of the airline's cadet training program.
Tréner Flight Academy delivers an integrated ATPL training pathway comprising 13 theoretical subjects, approximately 140 hours of aircraft flight training and 60 hours of simulator training. Successful graduates progress to Wizz Air's airline transition and Airbus A320 type rating training, followed by supervised line flying.
AFM previously reported that Tréner Flight Academy welcomed 46 cadets under WAPA Batch 22 in October 2025, which was described at the time as the academy's largest intake under the airline partnership. The latest 50-cadet group exceeds that previously reported intake by four students.
Tréner has been a Wizz Air Pilot Academy training partner since 2016 and have trained more than 1,200 professional pilots since establishing its professional training operations in 1992.
The academy operates more than 20 training aircraft, including Piper Warrior and Seminole models. In April 2026, Tréner announced the acquisition of an additional ALSIM AL250 FNPT II simulator to expand its training capacity, complementing its existing AL250 and ALX devices.
