France – ICARE has successfully renewed the EASA FNPT II MCC qualification of its Exail A320 Flight Training Device, confirming the continued compliance of the simulator with EASA standards. The achievement highlights the maturity, reliability and operational performance of Exail's simulation technology, which has been supporting ICARE's airline-focused training activities since 2023.

A High-Fidelity Training Device Developed from OEM Aircraft Data

Designed and manufactured by Exail, the A320 Flight Training Device has been developed using the aircraft manufacturer's OEM data package, enabling an accurate representation of aircraft systems, flight dynamics and operational behaviour.

The platform supports:

  • Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC)
  • Airline Pilot Standards MCC (APS MCC)
  • Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training pathways
  • Recurrent airline pilot training

Built on a scalable architecture, the device has been designed with FTD Level 2 capability in mind, leveraging high-fidelity modelling, OEM aircraft data and advanced simulation technologies typically associated with higher-level training devices.

The successful qualification renewal at ICARE further demonstrates the robustness of Exail's simulator architecture and its ability to deliver reliable long-term performance in an operational training environment.

A Proven Solution in Daily Training Operations

Since entering service in 2023, the simulator has become an essential component of ICARE's training programs, complementing the organization's EASA Level D A320 Full Flight Simulator and supporting a broad range of airline-oriented training activities.

Philippe Goetz, CEO of ICARE, commented: "The successful recurrent evaluation of our Airbus A320 FNPT II MCC simulator is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of both the Exail and ICARE teams. Since 2023, the simulator has proven to be the ideal complement to our EASA Level D A320 Full Flight Simulator, enabling ICARE, as an Approved Training Organisation, to deliver high-quality airline-oriented training to our customers. The renewed qualification confirms the reliability and maturity of the platform and reinforces our confidence in its role within our training ecosystem. Looking ahead, we also plan to expand our offering with A320 APS MCC courses, taking full advantage of the simulator's advanced capabilities."
