Idaho FTO Changes Ownership in November 2025

November 6, 2025

Idaho, USA –Pilot Training Northwest, a long-standing aviation school serving northern Idaho since 2017, has officially transitioned its operations to All Sports Aviation, effective November 1, 2025. The move marks a new chapter for the Sandpoint-based flight training provider, expanding its offerings while maintaining a strong focus on youth aviation outreach and backcountry flight education.

  • Pilot Training Northwest was purchased by Jacob Klinginsmith in 2022 from founder Ken Larson and has since played a central role in the region’s pilot training ecosystem — supporting local students from first flights through advanced ratings.
  • The transition to All Sports Aviation, managed by Gary Brook, will see continuity in existing programs alongside new investment in aircraft, training capacity, and community partnerships.
  • All Sports Aviation, which already operates a training branch in Deer Park, Washington, plans to introduce a larger and more diverse training fleet at Sandpoint Airport — including tailwheel, backcountry, and seaplane instruction.
