Indian Airline to Recover A320 Grounded Aircraft as Engine Supplier Finalizes Replacement Schedule in 2026

November 10, 2025

India – According to media reporting in a significant development for India’s largest airline, Indi Go is said to have received firm assurances from Pratt & Whitney that all GTF engine replacements for approximately 40 grounded Airbus A320neo aircraft will be completed by June 2026. The commitment marks a crucial step in resolving the prolonged Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine issues that have constrained Indi Go’s fleet capacity and impacted schedule reliability over the past year.

The airline, which operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft and flies 2,300+ daily flights, has been among the global operators most affected by the GTF engine durability problems. With over 900 aircraft on order, restoring engine reliability is vital to Indi Go’s growth trajectory and its strategy to double pilot strength by 2030.
