India – Addressing Wings India 2026 via video conferencing, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi outlined a comprehensive national vision for aviation growth, with direct implications for pilot training, MRO, aircraft manufacturing, and regional connectivity. India, now the third-largest domestic aviation market, is poised for transformative expansion through 2047.
PM Modi highlighted that India’s aviation sector has undergone a historic transformation over the past decade, expanding from 70 airports in 2014 to over 160 airports in 2025, with plans for more than 400 airports by 2047.
India’s aircraft fleet is rapidly expanding, with Indian airlines having ordered over 1,500 aircraft in recent years, driving demand for pilot training, maintenance personnel, and ground operations capacity.
