India – Akasa Air, India's fastest-growing low-cost carrier, has inducted its 39th Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at Bengaluru following a ferry routing from Seattle via Reykjavik and Cairo, marking the eighth aircraft delivery of calendar year 2026 and accelerating the airline's fleet ramp-up toward its firm order of 226 aircraft.

Akasa Air holds a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 187 still to be delivered, providing long-term fleet growth visibility and proportional pilot training demand through the remainder of the decade.

AFM reported earlier this month that Akasa Air had launched the Akasa SkyCadet Pilot Training Program, a structured self-funded pathway delivering ground school, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) flight training, and Boeing 737 MAX type rating - more information found here Indian Airline Launches Self-Funded Cadet Pilot Training Program in 2026 with 2 FTO Partners - afm.aero
