India’s Flag Carrier Air India Seeking Chief Manager – Maintenance for New Flight Academy

Amravati, India – Tata Group-owned Indian flag carrier Air India, which announced plans in July 2024 to establish a flight training organisation at Belora Airport in Amravati, Maharashtra, is now actively searching for a Chief Manager – Maintenance to join its team.

The Academy aims to train 180 commercial pilots annually and will be the largest such flight training organisations in South Asia, planning to become operational from the first quarter of the next financial year. It will operate 31 single-engine aircraft and three twin-engine aircraft for training purposes.

Develop and implement a maintenance program under Air India’s Car 145 for the FTO fleet, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, airline and industry best practicesDevelop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program for all aircrafts and flight training devices, ensure maintenance and inspections, and tracking of maintenance recordsDevelop and implement a stocking system and an ERP for optimal maintenanceSync with airline maintenance standards to improve operational efficiencyMonitor the performance of the aircraft and equipment to identify potential issues and take corrective action as necessaryInvestigate and report on incidents and accidents related to aircraft maintenance and operationImplement policies and training to maintenance personnel on best practices for aircraft maintenance and safetyMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs
