India's GVR Aero Services Appointed Dealer for Blackshape Training Aircraft

India – Chennai-based aviation services company GVR Aero Services Private Limited has announced its appointment as a dealer for Italian aircraft manufacturer Blackshape Aircraft, with plans to market the manufacturer's two-seat aircraft to Indian Flying Training Organisations (FTOs). The company has also initiated regulatory certification procedures to enable the aircraft's potential use in Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training.

• India's Ministry of Civil Aviation reported 41 operational FTOs across 63 flying bases in August 2026, representing the domestic pilot training market targeted by the new dealership arrangement.
• GVR Aero Services stated that it has commenced the aircraft certification process with India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
• The appointment was announced following discussions with Roberto Guastamacchia, a Blackshape Aircraft representative, during an aviation industry event in New Delhi.
• AFM previously reported that Blackshape Aircraft was expanding its international distribution network, including the appointment of overseas dealers, following FAA certification of its Gabriél aircraft. In a May 2025 interview, CEO Niccolò Chierroni identified civil and military flight training as target markets for the manufacturer.
• Blackshape's two-seat aircraft portfolio includes the EASA- and FAA-certified Gabriél BK160-200, an 850kg maximum takeoff weight composite aircraft with tandem seating and retractable landing gear, and the Prime Veloce, a 600kg ultralight aircraft.
