India’s IndiGo Signs MoU for 30 More Airbus A350s

04th Jun 2025

India – IndiGo strengthens its wide-body fleet ambitions with additional Airbus A350 commitment. The airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus to confirm an order for 30 more A350 aircraft, building on its initial order placed in 2024.

  • IndiGo’s first firm order of 30 Airbus A350 aircraft was announced in 2024, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
  • With the latest MoU, the total number of A350s now reaches 60, reflecting IndiGo’s continued investment in long-haul capabilities.
  • This follows IndiGo’s record-breaking order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft made in 2023, one of the largest in commercial aviation history.
  • The fleet expansion comes as India’s aviation market prepares for a forecasted doubling of passenger traffic by 2030 compared to 2025.
  • As the airline sector scales rapidly, attention is also turning toward aviation training infrastructure and workforce readiness to meet future demand for skilled professionals.
