Ireland – Dublin-based approved training organisation Simtech Aviation has welcomed 10 dual-licence, EASA and UK CAA pilots to its 17th Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation batch of 2026.

  • The APS MCC course comprises four days of ground school and 40 hours of training in Simtech’s Boeing 737-800 simulator, delivered over approximately 16 days. The simulator phase is normally divided into two five-day blocks with two rest days between them.
  • Training covers crew resource management, airline operations, Boeing 737 standard operating procedures and profiles, upset prevention and recovery training, normal and non-normal handling, aircraft systems and flight management system use. Successful students receive the applicable EASA or UK CAA APS MCC certificate after completing the course modules and simulator assessments.
  • Simtech currently lists the EASA APS MCC course at €6,279 and the UK CAA programme at £5,750, excluding accommodation.
  • Published remaining 2026 course dates include August 9–24 and August 21–September 5, followed by twice-monthly or near-twice-monthly intakes through December.
  • Simtech lists five devices available for training or dry hire: three full-flight simulators representing the Airbus A320, ATR 72-600 and ATR 72-500, and fixed-base Boeing 737-800 and XJ devices. The A320 and both ATR simulators are identified as full-flight devices, while the Boeing 737-800 is used for APS MCC instruction.
  • The organisation is also preparing to add Airbus A320neo, A330neo and A321XLR full-flight simulators through its long-term collaboration with Aer Lingus and International Airlines Group. The equipment is scheduled to be introduced between 2026 and 2027.
  • AFM previously reported that Simtech welcomed nine students to its 16th APS MCC intake of 2026 in July.
