Irish Pilot Training Organisation AFTA Celebrates 30 Years of Pilot Training Excellence in Cork
Ireland – Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) marked its 30th anniversary with a gala event and the graduation of the Class of 2023/2024, celebrating its evolution from a single-aircraft operation in 1995 to a globally recognized pilot training institution.
- Over 100 pilots from around the world attended the anniversary gala at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cork, honoring AFTA’s contributions to the aviation industry
- The event also celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2023/2024, with families from Ireland and abroad witnessing their loved ones embark on careers with leading global airlines
- AFTA has trained over 2,800 pilots to date, operating a fleet of 26 aircraft and advanced simulators, including Boeing 737NG and 737 MAX 8200 devices
- The academy maintains partnerships with major airlines such as Ryanair, Air Astana, VistaJet, ASL Airlines Ireland, and GlobeAir, and collaborates with Munster Technological University (MTU) for academic programs
- AFTA has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Initiative Award at the Pilot Careers Live Awards 2025, reflecting its commitment to integrating sustainability into pilot education
