Italian Flight School Hosts Transport Minister in July 2026

Italy – Rome-based flight school Urbe Aero Flight Academy hosted Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini for a visit focused on its flight training activity.

• Urbe’s current training fleet comprises 20 aircraft:
  • 7x Diamond DA20-C1s.
  • 9x Diamond DA40 NGs.
  • 3x Diamond DA42 NG/DA42-VIs.
  • One CAP 10 C used for advanced upset prevention and recovery training.
• Its three flight training devices comprise:
  • One ALSIM AL42 FNPT II.
  • One FTD.aero Boeing 737 MAX FNPT II MCC.
  • One FTD.aero Airbus A320neo FNPT II MCC.
• Salvini met cadets from several European countries who are completing training at Rome Urbe Airport. Urbe’s integrated ATPL course lasts approximately 24 months and includes 750 hours of theory and 200 hours of practical training.
• Urbe identified Wizz Air, easyJet, Aeroitalia and ITA Airways among the airlines connected to its cadet development activity. Its Wizz Air Pathway Program provides successful applicants with a conditional employment offer before ATPL training begins.
• AFM previously reported that the academy’s A320neo simulator received ENAC FNPT II MCC certification in June 2025 and operates alongside the Boeing 737 MAX device for APS MCC, MPL and integrated cadet training.
• Urbe also acknowledged ENAC President Pierluigi Di Palma and ENAC Servizi Sole Director Marco Trombetti for their support of civil aviation development and Rome Urbe Airport.
