France & Italy – French flight simulator manufacturer ALSIM has confirmed the completion of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for an AL42 Diamond DA42-VI simulator acquired by Italian flight training organisation Aviomar Flight Academy. The testing took place at ALSIM's headquarters near Nantes, France, ahead of the device's planned deployment at Aviomar's Parma Training Centre in Italy.

  • Aviomar's Parma Training Centre is planned to accommodate two flight simulation training devices: the new Diamond DA42 FSTD and a Boeing 737-8200 MAX FSTD, supporting the academy's ab initio and airline-oriented pilot training activities.
  • The completed FAT marks a further stage in the AL42 acquisition process, ahead of installation and operational qualification. The device is intended to support multi-engine and instrument training, complementing Aviomar's existing Diamond DA42 aircraft fleet.
  • The Parma facility forms part of Aviomar's expansion in northern Italy, supporting its Ryanair Future Flyer Academy cadet training activities alongside its operations in Rome Urbe and Monterotondo.
  • The AL42 replicates the Diamond DA42-VI cockpit using genuine aircraft components, Garmin G1000 NXi avionics, a Garmin GFC 700 autopilot, force-feedback controls and ALSIM's visual system. It supports analog or electronic backup instrument configurations and is designed for PPL, CPL and multi-engine instrument training, with EASA FNPT II qualification available.
  • AFM previously reported that Aviomar Flight Academy acquired the ALSIM AL42 in April 2026 to expand its Parma training capabilities. The acquisition followed the academy's earlier plans to establish a training centre with capacity for more than 150 trainees annually.
