Italy - INTUOS, an aviation technology company focused on digital flight monitoring solutions for general aviation and flight training organizations, has introduced a real-time telemetry platform designed to digitize analogue aircraft and provide flight schools and fleet operators with advanced safety and training insights.
- Founded in 2019, INTUOS develops digital monitoring systems aimed at helping flight schools, ultralight operators, and general aviation fleet managers digitize flight operations, improve safety oversight, and increase operational efficiency.
- The company’s core solution is the Inflight Unit (IFU), a plug-and-play telemetry module weighing approximately 220 grams that can be installed in analogue aircraft to capture and stream flight data.
- The system transmits data every two seconds via 4G connectivity with automatic satellite backup, enabling real-time monitoring of flight operations.
- Captured telemetry includes GPS position, altitude, aircraft attitude (pitch, roll, yaw), G-forces, and environmental parameters, creating detailed operational visibility for operators.
- The platform automatically generates digital flight logs and enables 3D post-flight replay, allowing instructors and operators to analyze pilot performance and flight behaviour.
- Through integrated dashboards, operators gain fleet-wide visibility, safety alerts, and pilot-level analytics, supporting data-driven training oversight and risk management.
- INTUOS integrates Xsens MTi-3 Series inertial sensors, providing high-precision motion and attitude data required for reliable manoeuvre detection and training analytics.
- The sensor technology delivers drift-free orientation data, embedded sensor fusion processing, and high-frequency motion capture, enabling accurate analysis of aircraft behaviour even during turbulence or aggressive manoeuvres.
- For flight schools, the platform enables objective training debriefings through 3D replay visualization, allowing instructors to review student performance and highlight procedural deviations.
- Fleet operators can also receive alerts when safety parameters such as bank angle or G-load limits are exceeded, enabling proactive intervention.
Statements
- Carolina Gianardi, CEO of INTUOS: “Our mission is to help customers digitize their processes, increase safety, and improve operational efficiency.”
- Vito Tedeschi, CTO of INTUOS: “It was a nightmare. We tried multiple sensors. With some chips, pitch and roll drifted by one degree per second. Others overwhelmed our processor with the fusion algorithms needed. None were accurate or stable enough.”
- Carolina Gianardi, CEO of INTUOS: “We bring value because our customers can understand what happened. Immediately, objectively, and with the data to support it.”
