Italy – EASA-approved flight training organisation Professional Aviation Academy has welcomed another group of students from Air Arabia Academy to its training facilities in Ozzano dell'Emilia, near Bologna. The intake continues the partnership supporting the development of future pilots for UAE-based carrier Air Arabia.

  • The latest intake comprises 14 Air Arabia Academy students who have begun their training at Professional Aviation, progressing through classroom instruction and practical flight training.
  • The two organisations announced their training partnership in November 2024, with the first cadets beginning training in Italy in early 2025. Under the agreement, Professional Aviation provides primary flight training for Air Arabia Academy students as part of the airline's Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training pathway.
  • The Italian training phase provides cadets with practical flying experience in European airspace, including aircraft handling, navigation and preparation for solo flight, before progressing to subsequent stages of their airline pilot training.
  • AFM previously reported that Professional Aviation welcomed 18 Air Arabia Academy students in July 2026, following earlier intakes under the same partnership. The academy reported approximately 18,000 flight hours during 2025, compared with 16,000 in 2024.
  • Professional Aviation operates more than 30 training aircraft and helicopters, with fleet types including the Tecnam P2008, P2006T and P92, Cirrus SR20 and SR22, Mudry CAP-10B and Guimbal Cabri G2. Its synthetic training infrastructure includes an ALSIM ALX simulator.
