Kenya's Regulator Approves Flying Instruction Services for 4 Aviation Operators

Kenya – The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has granted air service licences for flying instruction to Ram Air Limited, ALS Limited, Pegasus Flyers (E.A.) Limited, and Standards Aviation Limited, covering training operations from Malindi and Wilson airports.

  • 4 operators received flying-instruction air service licences:
    • Ram Air was granted a one-year licence from July 29, 2026 for Cessna 172 operations at Malindi;
    • ALS received a one-year licence from the same date for C172 operations at Wilson;
    • Pegasus Flyers received a three-year licence from April 16 for C172 operations; and
    • Standards Aviation received a three-year licence from March 14 covering the C172 and Beechcraft BE76.
  • Local media report's an indicative cost of approximately KSh8.64 million (approx. USD 67,000) for a Kenyan fixed-wing pathway combining published PPL, CPL and multi-engine/instrument-rating training figures, before some regulatory and ancillary expenses.
