US, Texas Media Outlet, CBS Austin, spoke with James Constable, Chief Marketing Officer at Aeroguard Flight Training Center, on the looming pilot shortage.

According to Constable, there has been an increase in interest in aviation. The pilot shortage has long been existent and that is forecasted to last for the next 20 plus years.

“The fact is that a lot of current pilots are going to retire in the next five-10 years, and they need more pilots that not only backfill those pilots but also the growing demand for airline travel,” Constable told CBS Austin.

Airlines were not prepared that the demand is far greater as people gets back flying after a 2-year lockdown, Constable added.
